Valentine’s Day is almost upon us, and we can hear you begging for guidance on the best chocolates to get for your sweetheart.

Help has arrived in the form of three of Captivate’s editors and bloggers: Byte-Sized’s Amber, Indulge’s Jacqui, Weigh In’s Kate tasted-tested three gourmet chocolatiers – Payard, Lake Champlain Chocolates and See’s Candies (mail-order, unless you’re lucky enough to live near a location) – and two more widely available chocolatiers who are no less dedicated to making just the best chocolates in the world: Godiva and Lindt. And, we snacked on all-natural Q.bel chocolate treats in the meantime!

While our test wasn’t a contest to see which chocolate ultimately came out on top, we came up with some fun awards (at the end!) to help guide you toward the best choice to present your love with on that special night – alongside a dozen of the prettiest flowers you can find, of course.

A full day taste-testing the world’s best chocolate was a hard job, but someone had to do it.
